Jennifer S. Wong

I am a multimedia artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am passionate about creating wearable art through sewing, using diverse fabrics and upcycled materials. My specialties include Cosplay, which has become a powerful outlet for my individuality. Cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, TV show, video game, or other media, it is often accompanied by acting or roleplaying as the character. It allows me to express parts of myself that I might otherwise keep hidden, celebrating creativity and giving growth opportunities. I explore the complexities of character and connection through cosplay from a unique perspective.

 

The community I've encountered on this journey has been invaluable. The camaraderie and support have sharpened my skills and reinforced that passion and tradition can coexist. Each project I undertake reflects both my artistic growth and a larger story of courage in pursuing what truly resonates with me.

 

My work embodies an eclectic style, transforming a blank canvas into something uniquely my own. I create cosplays from scratch giving it a deeper meaning, as each element—from garment to props and makeup—must harmonize to bring a character to life. Each piece tells a story, reflecting my artistic journey and the narratives of the characters I portray.
